I just got back from taekwondo. You are all now reading the journal of a greenbelt! XD *bounces* I was promoted today, albeit after what I consider was a disastrous belt test (on my part). Um, yeah, I don't think its good when you forget your pattern partway through, and have to restart. And I really don't think its good to actually get hurt during sparring (but if anyone could do it, it was me.XD). ...Yeah-- In my second match, I was partnered with Joseph, and he accidentally sidekicked me onto my ass (I was moving in for a front leg round house kick, and forgot I was in the right place and range for him to basically pwn me).

And then he forgot that yeah, I'm only 5' 1'', versus his like.. I dunno, maybe he'd be six feet? He's taller than me by almost a head, I'd guess. But, either way, he forgot he's taller than me, and more flexible, and accidentally landed a kick high on my left shoulder, which glanced off and caught me in the jaw. But, after two days, I can chew fully again, lol. Poor guy looked like he'd died a thousand deaths when he realized he'd hurt me. Not that it hurt, unless I clenched my teeth. But I think I was a little shocky, I dunno, maybe from it having been like a head injury of some sort, so I started trembling and shivering, and every little bit I'd end up teary, which grew old very quick, because physically I felt fine, hell, I was even laughing my ass off. It made me feel bad because I was tearing up for no reason at all, and making him feel bad, to the point that he didn't believe me when I was fine.XD

Everything else went fine though. I know I did good on my vocabulary, and I broke the boards with my newly learned, nifty flying side kicks.^^ So yeah, I'm a green belt now! And its a pretty shade of green, like, this colour:

So yeah, that was my happy note for the bit. That, and that my birthday is in 13 days.XD Oh, and the fact that I updated my icons.XD They now feature (respectively) Iambe and She. Its a bit of a hint as to how She's plot at the vale is going to advance, *hinthint*.


*sigh* And now for some less heartening news. Quincy died Sunday morning. We think he might have been pushed into the corner of the shelter awkwardly while laying, and that it broke his neck. Or that he was crushed, like the others. Neither is a big surprise, he was a tiny cria, very, very slim, and fine boned. And we knew we would be lucky if either he or Erith made it through the winter. But its still depressing, and still brings me to tears thinking about it. Why is it pets always seem to die so young? Sparts wasn't a year old, Munsch was just entering her prime, Russ and Snowballs both were just out of kittenhood, and Quincy...*sigh* My friends keep telling me, "Well, stuff like that happens on farms all the time", but it still hurts. We supplemented him and Erith, kept them warm, bottle fed them, and have been trying our best to keep them healthy. With so much effort into it, it is just do disappointing to lose one, especially to something so stupid as the fact that their miniscule compared to the others.

"You couldn't have done anything" or, "Well, thats sad news". Really? Really? I've been friends with these girls for how many years, they know how much effort and care I invest in my pets, and they couldn't even drudge up enough care to at least give me a hug while I was in tears. *sigh* That really left me feeling like Miss Wonderful, because not only did I get to sit there, having my friends half-heartedly ask me what was wrong, and when I work myself into tears explaining, the one actually didn't hear me the first time (She asked later on "what's wrong?") and basically be told canned sympathies while they did their own things. Wow.

*snirk* At least Joseph asked me what was wrong, and tried to make me feel better. Right before class on monday, when we belt tested and he decided to attempt to kick my head in.XD *sigh* Well, if anything, a sore jaw is a welcome distraction to Quincy.
